Carter Young is a fashion brand, founded in 2022, in Detroit, New York City. Drawing from the American cultural canon, they have blended the American lives existing between the coasts. In spite of having expanded to London, their roots stay firm in the heartland of American.

The seed of each collection by Carter Young begins with research, whether that be film, literature, music, or ephemera. It can be as simple as a song, photograph, or painting that becomes the keystone for encapsulating, informing fabrics, colours, textures, and visuals. They are integral to contextualising this creative exploration.

We were told to use both digital and 35mm to capture realtime moments from Carter Young’s studio launch party. The photographs acted as stills to paint the broader picture of how lively the evening was. Those taken on digital, were then graded to replicate Kodak film emulsions to best suit Carter Young’s nostalgic, timeless style.
